Player profile #29 – Dasha Kornienko

If longboard downhill polo was a sport she’ll probably kick all of our asses. Even if Dasha is usually late on the court, she’ll never miss a plane for a good tournament around the tasman sea. If you’re back is blocked after a hard day of polo she’ll give you a good yoga lesson to fix you up! Here’s a little more about Dasha

City: Auckland, New Zealand / Toronto / Kiev

Team: Samuarai Polo Cats

Years played: Almost 1 year

Super power: Staying on my bike (sometimes) and breaking whiskey bottles

Favourite heckle: Get it in the goalhole!

Bike: Raleigh record (made in England, older than I am), fixed with front brake only and 38:22 ratio

Mallet: The one I stole from Adelaide Colin

Protection: Gloves, knee pads, shin guards, helmet

What do you love most about bike polo?
That anybody can do it and how it brings together couriers, bmx-ers , downhillers, commuters and everyone in between!!
